LIVESTRONG Cancer Survivor Program

FREE 12 Week Class

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body!  Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve the following:

– Build muscle mass & strength
– Increase flexibility & endurance
– Improve confidence & self-esteem

YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program

The goal is to prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes by reducing body weight by 7% and participating in 150 minutes of physical activity per week.
*Financial Assistance provided by grant funding through AMITA Health (additional financial aid and subsidies available to qualified participants).
Classes are held at Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg. The program begins with 16 weekly core sessions; then biweekly sessions for weeks 17-19; and end with monthly sessions for weeks 20-25.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s

Pedaling a bicycle may change the life of someone with Parkinson’s disease. Research conducted at the Cleveland Clinic showed a 35% reduction in symptoms by the simple act of pedaling a bicycle at a rapid pace – optimally, 80-90 revolutions per minute.

Group Exercise

The Campanelli YMCA offers a wide variety of exercise classes, from traditional step to water aerobics. We strive to accommodate all levels of fitness. Class options include BodyPump, PoundFit, Zumba, Group Cycling, Yoga, and Pilates, just to name a few.

Personal Training

Our personal training program is individualized and specifically tailored to your needs. Our certified trainers will guide you through a customized program, which will get you the results you need in the fastest and most effective way possible. You will be instructed in all components necessary to alter body composition, the use of proper bio-mechanics, anatomy, physiology, proper nutrition and much more.
