We are looking for a part-time Aquatics Director that will oversee the planning and operations of the aquatics department and programs, including staff supervision, budget management, and skill to continue to develop and grow programs in the Y. Campanelli offers a flexible part-time schedule to manage this position. Hourly wage is negotiable and based upon experience.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing, developing, coordinating, and executing all aquatics department activities including but not limited program quality control, safety and risk management, recruitment, and retention of qualified staff, and ensuring best practices are followed. The Aquatics Director will manage aquatics budget to assure the financial and program service goals are attained; perform required administrative duties for the programs; and communicate and interpret aquatics objectives, policies and operating procedures to all departmental staff, volunteers, front desk staff, and program participants.

• Two or more years of related experience, preferably in YMCA aquatics management and proven success leading and developing quality preschool and youth aquatics programs.
• Currently hold appropriate aquatics certifications and the ability to become instructor certified in a timely manner as set by the Association.
• Experience in staff supervision.
• Experience with computers, including personal computer applications such as database, graphics packages and word processing.
• Exceptional interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills.
• Ability to instruct aquatics classes and lifeguard as needed.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

• Work as a Manager of a multi-disciplinary staff team, providing management and assistance as necessary, including MOD duties as scheduled and needed.
• Develop, manage, and execute assigned budget areas to ensure that targets meet or exceed expectations.
• Plan, supervise, and execute the Aquatics program in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Alfred Campanelli YMCA, YMCA of the USA, and West Bend Insurance.
• Recruit, train, and develop part-time aquatics staff and volunteers. Ensure all staff members hold current certifications in First Aid, CPR, aquatics as needed and complete YMCA new employee orientation, blood borne pathogen, and child abuse prevention training within 30 days of employment.
• Ensure all programs and special events have adequate staffing and supervision as recommended by the incumbent’s supervisor and/or program needs.
• Monitor, evaluate, and track the effectiveness and participation rate in all programs, both on and off-site. Respond to all member, participant, and community inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner, and resolve complaints in a positive customer-service fashion.
• Establish new program activities both in the YMCA and out in the community, and expand current programs within the service area in accordance with the Association’s strategic plan and member needs.
• Initiate the marketing and distribution of program information. Effectively communicate program offerings and updates to other YMCA staff, members, participants, and the community.
• Develop and maintain collaboration relationships with other community organizations. Represent the Association in community events or meetings when requested.
• Coordinate the use of program facilities for program activities and events well in advance of the event.
• Assist the Executive Director in fundraising efforts in all components of the YMCA Annual Campaign.
• Be available to handle management and emergency issues seven days per week, during YMCA facility hours.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

This position directs the Aquatics programs to ensure quality member development strategies, growth, and financial soundness. Successful performance will require the meeting or exceeding of all assigned membership and budget goals, providing exceptional customer service, and helping to ensure that YMCA staff members always work as a well-coordinated team.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour

Sports Fundamentals Instructor/Coach (part-time)

FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!  GREAT opportunity for retiree or young adult athlete to teach a variety of sports fundamentals to youth!  Looking for enthusiastic individual to coach youth sports fundamentals (agility training/obstacle course, soccer, floor hockey, basketball, etc.).  Classes generally offered twice weekly around 5:30 to 6:30 pm.  Please contact Diana Gudauskas for further information: or 847.891.9622 Ext. 109.
