Membership Services – Front Desk Representatives (part-time)

JOB FUNCTIONS:
–  Maintain professional, friendly, and welcoming presence at the Member Services Desk.

–  Associates will check-in members, monitor and control access to facility, process membership sales,
provide tours to prospective members, register members for programs, and troubleshoot
membership issues.
–  Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner, ensure calls are routed to the appropriate
departments, and messages are accurate and given to the intended department/person.
–  Adhere to and enforce all YMCA policies and procedures.
–  Possess a strong understanding of all programs, activities and services, with the ability to provide
members detailed, accurate and timely information regarding schedules, costs, programs,
memberships, and facility information.
–  Attend required staff meetings/trainings.
–  Accurately verify cash drawer contents at beginning and end of shift.
–  Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:
Evenings & Weekends: Hours Vary 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous customer service experience, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, computer literacy & math skills, and ability to stand for long periods of time and walk the facility to provide tours.

Before & After School KASPER Site Director (part-time)

The Campanelli YMCA KASPER Program is seeking passionate, creative, education-minded individuals to work in our Before & After School Program!

The KASPER Before & After School Program services elementary school children in grades K-6 within the Schaumburg 54 School District at 6 elementary schools, including locations in Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove, and Hanover Park. Program begins August 21st, 2018.

Our before and after school programs create a child-centered environment that promotes learning, character development, healthy living, and positive nurturing relationships.

The Part-Time Site Director is responsible for planning, implementing and adapting a wide variety of enrichment activities for grades K-6 in a before or after school program setting. The Site Director plays a key role in ensuring the program participants have a safe, supportive, interactive, and enriching program experience while ensuring the safety and security of all program participants by following YMCA Child Care Program Guidelines and KASPER Program Curriculum.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 21 years of age with a minimum of a high school diploma
  • 6 semester hours of credit related to school age childcare or related field
  • Minimum one year experience working with school age children
  • Three professional references
  • Must be available for both AM (6:45 – 8:30) and PM (2:45 – 6:00) shifts

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • To lead, supervise, and motivate staff
  • Use a positive and professional attitude when dealing with children and families within our program
  • Must be willing and able to supervise active games/sports with the children, i.e. be able to run, jump, climb, play sports and other similar activities
  • Must be willing and able to attend all staff meetings and required online and in-person training

Before & After School KASPER Program Leader (part-time)

Do you love working with children and supporting their academic growth? Looking for experience in education while you complete your college degree? Come join the YMCA KASPER Team as a part-time KASPER Program Leader!

  • Assist in maintaining a safe and fun environment for children in our program
  • Provide homework assistance within the KASPER Program
  • Supervise child-center activities (including playground, large motor, and craft projects)
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement scheduled activities as designated by lead Site Director staff

Lead Preschool Teacher/Assistant Director (part-time)

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Child Care Director, the Preschool Teacher/Assistant director is responsible for managing and supervising children enrolled in early childhood programs in accordance with DCFS and YMCA Child Care standards. The standards provide a base for development of an excellent child care program for children ages 3-5.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Preschool Teacher/Assistant Director must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of a High School diploma, and 60 hours of credit from an accredited college or university with at least 21 semester hours in courses related directly to child development from birth to age 6, or CDA and at least 1560 hours working with children.  In addition, Preschool Teachers must have at least 2 years experience working with children ages 3-5 in a professional setting. Teachers must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within one month of employment. Teachers must also comply with all DCFS regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Support and implement the goals and policies of the Campanelli YMCA and its administration
  2. Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward parents, children, staff, and other YMCA employees.
  3. Conduct daily programming with children in accordance with all Campanelli YMCA policies and procedures.
  4. Conduct consistent, respectful, fair, and professional leadership to all staff.
  5. Maintain accurate records including but not limited to; attendance, month-end paperwork, and children’s portfolios.
  6. Attend monthly staff meetings and all assigned trainings.
  7. Attend off-site conferences and public relations events when necessary for the promotion and enrichment of the program.
  8. Obtain 15 hours of in-service training per calendar year in accordance with DCFS licensing standards.
  9. Weekly lesson plans, which address individual children’s needs and interests must be completed and turned in to the Director for approval every Friday for the following week. Lesson plans must be posted and implemented, and a copy of the lesson plan given to parents.
  10. Ensure classrooms are arranged into basic interest areas and that those areas are well defined and equipped with sufficient materials.
  11. Maintain an environment that is safe, clean, and orderly.
  12. Provide a balance of activities including; indoor/outdoor, quiet/active, individual/group, and child/teacher initiated.
  13. Implement the Campanelli YMCA Character Development Program in all aspects of daily programming.
  14. Ensure that parents are well informed through daily communication, attractive and updated bulletin boards, and daily sheets.
  15. Conduct parent conferences a minimum of two per year, as well as individual parent conferences when necessary.
